Dr. John A. Fuller
As the Assistant Director of the Music Department at North Carolina State
University, I oversee all organizational and administrative aspects of the Music
Minor Music Department Scholarships and I'm in charge of departmental Outreach
and Assessment. I also assist with the basketball pep bands and conduct the British
Brass Band in the spring semester.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1987, my
Master’s degree from Cleveland State University in 1992 and my PhD in Music
Education from The Ohio State University in 1995. I currently hold an honorary
membership in NC State’s Music Fraternity, Mu Beta Psi. I am a life member in the
National Honorary Band Fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi and I hold professional
memberships in Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Kappa Lambda and The North American Brass Band
Association.
I have always been a believer in adult community bands. In the 1980's and early
1990's, I played tuba with the Upper Arlington (Ohio) Civic Summer Band and the
Medina (Ohio) Community Band. From 1998 - 2002, I also played and conducted with
the Raleigh Concert Band.
If you have any questions about The Village Band, please feel free to contact me at
