Remind

We use a service called "Remind" to send out last minute changes of plans primarily to cell phones. Remind is used mostly by schools to send messages to classes, but it can be used by other groups as well. We set up TVB as a group for the purpose of sending out last-minute changes to plans — primarily cancellations of rehearsals or concerts due to foul weather. We do NOT plan to use it routinely for band correspondence. Rather, we set it up as a one-way communication medium (president to the band) with rapid dissemination of text to mobile devices that band members are more likely to see in time to alter their plans.

 

Instructions to sign up for Remind are below:

 

Preferred Option - To receive messages via text messaging:  

• To join: text the word @tvbch to the number 81010

• To leave:  text the word  @leave to the number 81010

 

You can also sign up using your desktop. Go to http://rmd.at/tvbch on a desktop or laptop computer and sign up as specified. You can also do this from a tablet or phone, but Remind will require you to download the free app to sign up.

 

Note that text messages from TVB via Remind will come from (732) 410- 5133.
